Alright 98 trans am acts like it has a horrible miss. when driving its bounces and jerks like hell. in first gear just giving normal acceleration it sounds like it is bogging down and has no power but once you get to around 4 grand it takes off with full power. it constently back fires. i hooked it up to a computer it said it was the skip shift sensor but i dont know i cant figure it out. any ideas?

no. it started out bouncing bad then it got worse after i put a new egr valve on it started acting a little better but its still not running like it used to.

unplug your mass air flow sensor and see if it runs better.

What's the easist way to tell if I have a vacuum leak? Ill try unplugging the air flow sensor when I get off work.

Look at your fuel trim.

Unplugged the maf sensor ran good for a minute then started backfiring and sounding like its bogging down and taking off at certain rpms

Any luck with the things you tried? My car is running not so good as well. I have similar problems causing it also... K&N filter fouling the maf, O2s going bad, and I think an exhaust leak also. Could the IAC be fouled also by the K&N?

Hell no. I'm gonna get new plugs and wires and take it to a mechanic that is supposed to be pretty good with ls1's. Hopefully it doesn't cost me to much to get her feeling better soon
