Default 04 CTS-V bone stock...first mod suggestion??

I just got my first CTS-V about a month ago...I'm waiting on my motor mounts now. I had to address what was broken before I could justify any performance mods.....I was wondering what anyone would suggest as the most impressive for the least amount of dollars. SUPER TIGHT BUDGET.

^^^ yep whatever brand you choose it is the best bang for the buck mod IMHO. Check out PISSUNOFF on the other board for another affordable solution.

Cold air intake? Really? You can plan on gaining 1-3rwhp with that mod, hardly noticeable.

Shifter or axles are the best first mod.

thanks and keep the advice coming....just ordered a CAGS delete......didn't even know that was a factory issue, thought I just had forgotten how to drive a manual shift...yeah as far as the intake...i added a CAI on my 04 mustang and it cost me around $300 and got me no noticeable power increase and only half a tenth @ the track. Going for muffler delete Monday if we get done with mounts in time.

idk if the ctsv ls6 and z06 ls6 are the exact same but just a tune and intake really woke it up. plus it was cheap like 500bucks total

Yes really what else can you spend 200 and gain some HP. Maybe a tune or nitrous but that's putting a little bit more strain on the engine. If he is looking to spend money gp heads cam or supercharger.

You would get 8-10 hp with just a tune and a drop in K&N. Problem is . . . a dyno tune will cost you $500 + $300 for the cold air intake . . . $800 . . ahh, can you say, clutch, pressure-plate, flywheel?
The flywheel is a turd . . . now you're talkin' . . that was funny LOL.
Yup, on target. Reduce Your Rotating Mass. Good for 2X more HP & TQ than a CAI. Save your money for what you Can Feel, Not HEAR.

And horsepower does not mean that much.
It is TORQUE, that you FEEL.

I went from 310rwhp to 343rwhp with a K&N CAI, muffler delete and dyno tune. 33rwhp doesnt sound bad for the money.

Sorry, I couldn't quite understand your post. Back to the subject, yeah, $100/rwhp is a good deal.

Thanks for all the advice guys.....you're giving me a lot of different directions to go. I really don't like the idea of nitrous...I had a juiced up Stang and killed it in the long run prolly due to over doing it as well as poor tuning from my local shop which isn't in biz anymore. She's def a daily driver that I wanna take to the local drag strip once in a while as well as get some local surprise kills. Most likely go with a clutch/ flywheel swap, muffler delete for my own happiness as much as anything and a CAI and tune.....still patiently waiting on the good ole USPS for what I need to make it right. I did find a ole friend who has a blown 02 SS Camaro who's gonna help me get my feet wet in the GM performance game.

Race Proven Motorsports in Delaware, the tuner has a 04 V as a daily driver and got in depth with his own car before i took mine up so that defiently helped. He made like 350 with just a no name air filter on the end of the stock intake tube.
