Default True Dual muffler opinions (I know..)

Didn't find anything in a search, sue me.

TSP 1 7/8 race headers
custom 3" X-Pipe, no cats, dumped before rear axle.

What mufflers? Looking for something loud, but with some tone. Was thinking just bullets at first, but then got to looking at spintech super pro streets. What about a pair of single chamber flowmaster's?

I have true duals dumped with bullets. I lookid into spin tech or sweet thunders and they are more restrictive. I might could get away with less flow, but iI don't want to lose any power. The sweet thunders sure do sound good tho. Single chambers are to bulky for dumps IMO. I would love to hear some borls's dumped in person.
PS my set up is really loud!!!

Sweet Thunders are the best. I have the TSP dual set up. Like it is loud but only gets really loud when you get on it. When your just cruising around its really pretty mellow. Its still loud but not bad. Before I had the duals I had a cut out and that was really loud and thats all it was loud and raspy. It didnt have a unique tone like I wanted. With the sweet thunders I never get tired of the sound and has no rasp.

I had Flowmaster 1 chamber TD's.. it sounded great but OMFG the interior resonance was completely insane. at 2500-3000 rpm it was horrible. Now I have Sweet thunders.. it sounds great very different than the flowmaster 1 chambers but the major benefit is interior resonance is very minimal.

I had the x-pipe set up with the single chamber flowmasters dumped as well and like sixvi6-camaro stated the interior resonance was off the chart. The car sounded absolutly wicked, but at the price of a head ache after a few miles. I miss them when she's idling in the driveway, but other than that glad their gone. I went with the XR-1 Borlas instead, they are alot more tolerable, but def dont have the thump that the single chambers did - they also fit better under the car.

true duals here with spintech mufflers. not sure what series but they're kinda square... sounds good but i think the car has too much straightpiping or lacks perfect sound due to not having an H or X pipe. have sound clip but i think it's too big of a file to post. i'll see if i can't post it though

I prefer any kind of spiral flow mufflers (Flo-Pro twisters and Moroso spiral flows come to mind.

At that particular time it had Pacesetter longtubes into true duals with a Dr. Gas x-pipe and Flo-Pro twister mufflers. 408, stock 241 heads, 244/248 612/615 115 cam at the time as well.

Even with such a large cam wouldn't stock 241 heads be a huge restriction on a 408?

Absolutely they were. I ended up with AFR 225s shortly thereafter and a different cam. That motor is long gone now though.
