Default Moving to New Orleans close to Tulane

Thought i'd introduce myself on here since ill be in NO for the next 4-5 years. Ive spent all of my 21 years in Texas and am now on the move to a city i've never been to. I should be all moved in by mid June. Just wanted to see if any fellow tech guy's were close. I won't know anyone other than my girlfriend haha.

Also, I have a 2002 LE SS M6 that I keep garaged in Austin. I would like to have it with me but I refuse to bring it to NO. Are there any local car clubs or meets in the city or close by?

Any of you guys have bar/restaurant recommendations? And if any of you guys are cigar aficionados please let me know where the good humidor's/cigar lounges are.

Thanks guys

Matt

I'm in slidell which is about 30-40 mins with no traffic to where you are at. There is usually a gang of guys that go out to the fox and hound out in metairie on a Sunday night or they are at the Williams boat launch by the Treasure Chest Casino. On Sundays most people go to the lakefront and hang out, its across the street from landrys which used to be Joe's crabshack. We have our underground street scene but you are going to have to get some cred on here first before you can jump into that.

Never was a bar hang out type of guy, now as for restaurants I eat my *** off. I don't know too much about the area you are in as far as restaurants but it all depends on what you like to eat and what you are looking for. Try to go to alot of "hole in the wall" type of places, they usually have the best food.

You just missed Jazzfest so that would of been a good event to attend. We have Essence Fest coming up in July so thats something to attend. There are going to be alot of festivals coming up soon since its getting close to summer. I'm sure a few more people on here will chime in.

Leave the car or make sure you have it heavily secured
