Changed Rev Limit In Edit (But doesn't change)
OK, this is a weird problem. My buddy just changed his rev limit from 6100 to 6600. The changes made were as follows:
Park/Neutral 6600 Cutoff/6599 Resume
In all gears 6600 Cutoff/6599 Resume
The rev limiter is still kicking in at 6100. He did recently add a 12 bolt with 4.10's but we changed the gear ratio to reflect the new gears.
Any idea's? This is the first time I've seen a new rev limit not take. We have checked and double checked the settings in edit.
Thanks in advance!

What Version of Edit are you using?
There is a rev limited for BAD VSS that should be raised also, if you have any speedo sensor problems that setting will affect the rev limiter.
The BAD VSS wasn't available in ver 1.1 only 1.2 & 1.3 of Edit.

The Bass VSS is also set to 6600/6599
Any other idea's?

is it an A4? did you change the limit on the initial tranny page too? you may try changing it in the "by temp" and "by gear" in the "idle + limiters" in under the engine tab.

Let me give a little history on the car;
It was converted from an A4 to M6. I ran around with the A4 program and engine harness for awhile, the rev limiter at the time was set with a Hyper Tech. I took the car in to have it tuned and at the same time the tuner reflashed my pcm with a M6 file. While doing a base tune he set the rev limiter in 1st to I think 6200, and the rest were set to 6800. The rev limiter was fine after I left and made quite a few runs at the track with no issues.
Fast forward a few months, I had a new engine installed by the same tuner and also had him install a M6 engine harness at the same time. After/during the tuning of the new engine is when the rev limiter became "Stuck". I had asked him to raise the first gear rev limiter to 6800, otherwise I wouldn't have had him do anything to the rev limiter.
Maybe there is a clue in there somewhere, lol

if you can review the program, i would start there and make sure that all the RPM limits are set accordingly. did this start after you installed the M6 harness? i would have you send me the file, but i can only read truck files. have your tuner recheck your flash. perhaps someone else here can help you out if you have a copy of it.

Are you running the stock tach? If you are that is your problem! I had the EXACT same problem with my car when I put 4.30's in. I did not believe the tach was that slow. I have ran into alot of other guys with the same problem. I drove Johan at diablosport crazy with this problem.
If I watch the tach the limiter comes on at 5500 in 1st, 5800 in second and 6000 in third. I now have a shift light and have no problems bouncing into the limiter @ 6600 when the tach says 5500. Don't beleive me? Try doing a burnout and watch the tach. Bring the rmp up slowly to 6200 then the tach will keep up. Rev the motor in neutral with a quik blip of the throttle. And watch the delay. It is sad how slow that tach is!
