Just as the title says, How tough are our new camaros ?

How many miles on your car? Is it an A6 or M6? How Many drag runs have you done? What has broke ? What breaks? (nothing broken is good!)

do you mean tough? LS motors are extremely durable. it seems the first things going are halfshafts once you start making alot of power.

Our first car had about 40 passes on it. Only thing that killed it was attempting launch control at a drag strip. Destroyed the driveshaft.

Early cars such as mine have a tsb on the m6 trans. Well over 200 drag passes about 10-15 of them in the 10's launching with over 650 rwhp before I tookout the tsb'd shaft. Not bad for any car, but if the shaft would have hung in there no telling how many years it would have hung together. I really do drive them like I stole them.

Yes, I made a typo. What's the halfshaft? Is that the axle coming out of the rear end on both sides? @ what amount of power do they start snapping +/-?

The drive shaft or the little rubber hockey puck that replace u-joints?

That's a lot of HP. What have you done to it? What's still stock? Whats not?

it's got a stock short block, cleaned up heads, cam, full bolton's, suspension, nitrous outlet plate kit, all kinds of other stuff, just changing out the stock clutch now.

over 30 passes and nothing has broken yet! I'm pulling 545 rwhp and everything is stock except for the twin turbos, corsa exhaust and DR's. It's an automatic 6 speed. I daily drive the car (it's my only car). I run mid 11's all day. The car has 11k miles.

This is the stuff I like to hear about too. :burn:

There was such a small run of that TSB it seems. I have one of the early ones too, I have about 20 passes at the track (plus getting comfortable with a manual transmission) and this car has had no issues. I have only a few mods.

what's the cut off for the "early" camaro's that have the bad shaft/housing/whatever it is?

these cars are pretty solid . already at 17k miles and not one issue at all. havent been easy on it either, not one squeek or rattle from any part of the car which says a lot compared to the 4th gen rattle traps that sounded like a maracca even when new.
