Default what axles to choose.

i need to replace my axle bearings and axles in my stock 10 bolt. how do i know what spline and size to order. i plan on doing it myself. anything special to look out for when swapping them out? are there any write ups.

First you need to know which version of axles,3 channel ABS or 4 channel ABS + TC.

does you car have traction control? if so its a 4 channel, if not its a 3 channel.

if you have a speed sensor on each rear wheel, its a 4 channel.

order axles for you make an model and they should come with the right spline count, which i believe is 27.

yea i planned on doin bearings too. any one done this? anything keep in mind?

do a search in this 'gear and axles' forum for 'axle bearings' and 'axle seals'.you should find quite a few threads.

the best setup is going with NAPA bearings and the GM seals

i have heard horror stories about using timkin seals.

the total should be about $60 for the bearings/seals
