Default Even MORE intake ********

Pretty much final mockup, I am playing until my lifters come back from being rebuilt. Cant check piston to valve clearance without them...so I though I would share with my LTx brethren.

According to Holley I dont need the return springs on the bracket so I may cut it off. The springs on the throttle shafts are sufficient.

Still trying to find a good deal on a carb hat.

What cable bracket is that and what are you going to use for a throttle cable?

Its a Jegs bracket, I had to mod it to clear the throttle arm for the rear blades as you can see.

I called Lokar on the cable and bought a TC 1000HT per their recommendation. Its 24 inches long, they make another one like it thats 36 inches long.

you do need the dual springs to pass tech, It also has a better pedal feel imo.

I would use them

I would use the throttle bracket like Mike had(MDACTON) His return springs are vertical instead of horizontal, the tab that holds them hooks with a little plate between the throttle bracket and the cable stud.

I dont know how I am gonna hook mine up yet.

Mike post a pic of your old setup.

Looking good. Thats a pretty slick vacuum port setup. Wish I had the cash to go 4bbl, but I want to see how it performs with a 58mm and elbow first.

All these intake threads all of a sudden have me wanting to post my own "intake ****" thread .

LOL best use of a Stang part since rear end swapping .

4bbl not only flows better, but has better air distribution then a LT1 style throttle body.

Most elbows are pretty big restrictions, especially the low profile ones that clear an f-body cowl - fast moving air does not like to turn that sharply.

Of course that won't matter on a 355 spinning to 6300rpm with a baby cam, but on a nasty stroker there are gains to be had.

i feel like no matter what the power more flow both intake and exhaust always helps.

really carb style like this intake is wayyy better then like a giant monoblade with a huge elbow? hmmm do most guys run these with no tubing running to the carb style? just open?

You use one of these if you have a streetcar and plumb it to the CAI or your MAF.

If its a racecar cut the cowl back and leave it open. If you dont require a MAF.
