Default Took the car to the track last night...

To be honest, I'm not real happy with the results.

Here they are...

60' 1.89
1/8 7.92
MPH 89.59

I do have to admit that I still have shitty 273's which I think is a big part of the problem. I'm going to look at changing these out soon, and see what I get. Any suggestions?

Wouldn't that cam show much better in a 1/4. Kinda big therefore the top end is where it would shine. running the 1/8 obviously isn't doing it justice if you ask me.

60ft times are not bad but yes i would get a M6 rear w/ 3:42's and it should help a lot.

Somethings way wrong. Shitty *** 2.73's should help you MPH. To put things in perspective, I went 7.89@87.56 with my Stock Internal car yesterday...

Yeah, it really feels like it takes a dump off the line, but once it gets going, it feels pretty good.

Gears for sure! Like said thats a Higher RPM cam so its going to pull more mid to high, need more gearing to keep it in those Rs that the cam likes!

I went from 2.73 to 3.42...BIG difference. You will not be able to smash the gas from a dig once you convert. Launching will take some practice! I disagree with the OP...2.73 are hurting your MPH. Try pedaling your bike from 0 with the chain on the big front sprocket using the smallest vs largest gear on the rear. That's the best analogy there is.

As you already know, those 2.73's are absolutely killing you. I'd swap to at least a set of 3.42s, but depending on your plans for the car, I'd be considering 3.73s with that big cam and the stall. What tires are you running? Suspension mods?

Again, which gears you go with is going to depend on what you plan on doing with the car.

I'm looking at some 3.73's. I am going to keep it as a dd for at least 2 more years. No suspension mods yet and I was running slicks that night.

Just swapping to the 3.73's alone will drop an insane amount off your time if you can hook. Suspension mods should be next on the list, at least the basics (adjustable torque arm, lower control arms, relocation brackets, etc).

The car should be making plenty of power, now it just needs to crank off the line.

Sorry, I do have lower control arms and relocation brackets but thats it as far a suspension..Nothing major. I was really wanting a 7.50 and I think I can get close with some gears. I knew that I needed gears when I got the cam, but I wanted to see what it would do with the 2.73's. I am currently doing some shopping for some 3.73's. As soon as I get the gears, I will post some new results.

Definitely post results. Honestly, swapping from 2.73s to 3.73s alone with that setup should put you in the 7.5 range no problem if you can hook up, possibly quicker. Those 2.73s are hurting you beyond what words can describe. I actually mentioned this thread to my brother while we were at Subway for lunch and when I told him the setup and said "2.73s...." it looked like he was gonna throw up.
