Default 5/7/10 Atco Results

Me and a few friends cruised out to Atco last night to get in some runs, first time for both of us. First race was me against a black T/A w/TT2's.
R/T: .606
60': 2.469
1/8: 9.440
MPH: 80.17
1/4: 14.238
MPH: 102.93
Never ran before so I kinda took it easy.

Next run was up against a pewter SS.
R/T: 1.184
60': 2.274
1/8: 9.094
MPH: 81.20
1/4: 13.839
MPH: 103.86

Getting a little better. Next run was with a red Lightning.
R/T: .676
60': 2.222
1/8: 9.019
MPH: 81.41
1/4: 13.753
MPH: 104.01
Got one more run in against my buddy's El Camino but didn't do any better. But I guess I need to get the reaction time a little better and work on that 60' to get into the mid-low 13's. First time out, had an awesome time and I can't believe I never did this before owning this car for about 7-8 years lol. Mods are Magnaflow catback and MTI lid auto with 2.73's

I second this.
Hey CrazydrivinJoe
Try leaving soft then start increasing the throttle until you start to regress.
While doing this you'll also learn throttle control and your car.

I agree.

First time for me was about 1 1/2 years ago in my blinged out vette... after that first time, I sold all my bling and bought go fast parts. Drag radials was first.

Get back out and have fun.

Reaction time doesn't mean anything unless your racing someone. Your time doesn't start until you cross the line.

I had the most fun when I first started drag racing before I got into the heads cam and braking stuff phase.

The best time I had was a late October night and breaking into the 12s with just a lid and catback on stock wheels/tires. Fun times for sure.

Nothing like the first time right? Fun at the time and then you start to think about what you could have done better lol

aaaahahahaha

My first pass ever was a 14.1 @ 101 so there is CLEARLY room for improvement. I went from 14.1 to 12.85 with a K&N filter and practice. Thats all it takes, practice, run the car, run the car again, then run it again.

have fun!

Same here, I was just telling someone the other day that one of my most memorable passes ever was my very first 12 (a 12.92 I think) in November 2001 at Atco. I too only had a lid/K&N, 160' t-stat and a Hypertech programmer (for shift points only), all stock otherwise.
I think that milestone still might mean even more to me than when I'd first gone 11s (in either car) or even 10s.

Fixed it.
Didn't you already have an air lid at that point too?
I know between you and Paul, one of you borrowed my K&N and one of you borrowed my lid that day LOL.

It was def a great experience and everytime I was thinking, 'ok ill do this next time and see if its better', lol. I don't really want to do anything else to the car, yet, I'd rather see what I can do with it as it sits. So I need to work on the launch mostly and im not leaving till I get a 2.0 60' and run a 13.3. I was told knocking 2/10's off the 60' would knock 4/10's off the 1/4 time, not sure how true that is but that would be perfect
