Default Coil pack relocation

Anyone try this yet? something similar to an under cowl relocation just to clean up the valve covers?

I've always wondered this, but never seen any done on a V. It should be pretty simple right? Just some longer plug wires and a bracket to mount them.

I remember seeing relocated packs in this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDvmjk6LHYU

whats the purpose though? Id assume the shorter the plug wire the better for performance?

Its really just for looks, it really clean up the engine bay but i couldnt imagine itd be easy to find a place under the engine bay to mount 8 coil packs and not make the wiring look like ****.

Yeah, you'd have to make a cover or something to keep it clean. But done right with some nice valve covers sure makes a good visual statement.

I agree some covers will be a lot easier. And will add some more under the hood looks.

Although somewhat more pricey, I am going to go a different approach to mine that I have seen in person and like the looks of, and that is the red MSD individual coil packs in their stock location and the red MSD spark plug wires. I disagree with you guys about this subject. I don't think that even Houdini could run plug wires from the firewall and make for a nice, clean installation. You're going to have a modern day motor looking like a 50's-60's 6 or 8 carb log manifold. That was in the days when it was kool to have fuel lines running everywhere.

I like the idea or relocating too, but to much trouble and wires I think for me, so I too bought a set of red Z06 coil covers and custom fit them to my engine bay, here are a few shots, I also have another set hanging on the wall, not cut or cracked, in great condition. PM me if you're interested in them, $80. can provide more pics too...
