well in a short time I've owned mine...6-7 weeks, I've found out that the 04-05's have troublesome half shafts in the rear...as well as **** for motor mounts, luckily I found a GREAT dude on here that hooked me up on a set, shifter's a bit sloppy for my liking.. all in all it's the most badass car I've owned to date....Kills my ex 04 COBRA, kills my 88 Supra, it's alot more luxury than I'm used to, but with the power to boot I LOVE IT!all of the problems I've found are easily corrected...well $$$ isn't too easy but ya know....and my favorite thing is that I've only seen one one the road in the 2,500 miles I've driven it in almost 2 months and it def has a sleeper quality...for the morons who don't know what's up....IMHO it's a great choice and the local po po's don't even look twice

Let me correct a few of the above statements, the half shafts are not problematic its the diff that blows due to the wheel hop. The fix for all model year V1s is aftermarket axle or axles to eliminate the wheel hop.

The shifter in all 4 years is sloppy as well as the motor mounts.

The V will be about even performance wise with a stock LS1 from a roll if not a little faster. If you have headers etc on the Z28 the V wont be able to match it its just too heavy. The V can be fast though with the right stuff done but dont expect a drag car or a drop in 3k dolalr bulletproof rear.

Pro axles rated for 1000hp are about 1600-1800 bucks so its not "easy" lol....but they will eliminate about 99% of the hop. The diff can still go if you abuse it or put too much power through it but axles greatly reduce the risk of that happeneing. Have you run your Z yet? Stock Vs will go 107-110mph.

The V is an amazing car. It does everything well, especially when you consider it's a 4,000 car.

You can feel the weight.

But even so, the cars seems to be well engineered enough that it surprises you, feeling like a much lighter car.

You can feel the car roll over during turns ... but it sticks and rotates.

You can feel the car's weight under braking, but there isn't much nose dive and therefore trail brakes like a much lighter car.

And of course, the LS motor makes it rocket off the turns ... so much so, you'll have to learn throttle control all over a gain.

An F-car has to be muscled. It has to be pitched into turns, but too much slip angle and around it comes. An F-car is a nose-heavy, plowing pig from the factory.

You feel none of that in the V.

And let me add ...

When the GTO was first introduced, I took one for a drive and found the steering to be "lazy". Resposne wasn't very crisp and took a lot of steering input to point the car where I wanted it to go. I feel none of that in the V.

um, hard to believe that you ran a 12.7 @ 117 in a bone stock Z, but not saying that it isn't possible. Trap doesn't match ET very well either. Again, not saying that it is not possible, but, well, you know.

ill have to see if i can find my slip. the only thing i did was the free ram air mod and cut off my muffler when i ran. 60ft was terrible, that and a lot of people have always doubted my testimonies so i knew yall would have a hard time believing it. all i can say is i did run a 12.7 and that was with no tune to my knowledge. since it was three years ago my mileage may be off by a couple of mph's but i was not under 110 for sure.

on another note the caddy is more of a autox car from what i gathered?

again im liking everything so far. i do have one question. one of my buddies bought a new m5 and really thought he could beat me so we ran needless to say his g/f switched to ride in my car afterwards hahaha. said she didnt want to be on the loosing side haha. not trying to seem arrogant at all just kind of a funny story. so my question is does this vehicle have a hard time running with lets say gtos, vettes, m5's vehicles like those? i guess i should clarify, im looking at getting a slightly modded v maybe full bolt-ons something like that. i have seen quite a few videos of v's vs fbods but not too much of anything else besides some highly modded 4 bangers.

Dude:
You either ran completely (bone) stock or you didn't. Sorry. That's the way that it is. No slam intended.

I have this feeling that you know a lot more about the '09 & up Cad CTS-V than you are letting on. There are a couple of "bolt-on" '09 CTS-V's running around SoKali with 600 RWHP & RWTQ. Your boss, you know the guy that owns this forum, "NineBall". He owns one. In fact a very beautiful one, I might add. One of the most beautiful I have ever seen with the new wheels he bought for it. Do you think that he bought it because it's slow?

I think he is talking about buying a V1. He currently has a 2000 Z28.
