I've only raced 5 times this season, I have a 6 week old at home so it's hard to get away, but in those 5 races I've had 1 win, 1 R/U, 1 semi, and a quarter final all in the no-box class. I'm pleased with my results with the new combo, and the best thing is I know I'm capable of winning any race with the car being deadly consistent and my lights being in the .020 and better.

Your off to a good start! Bracket racing is the only true equalizer where it don't matter how deep the pockets are, a old blazer can beat the state of the art purpose built drag car if the driver has the skill. Your off to a good start!

Silverado,
what tire is that you are running? 30 x 10.5 slick?

Been rained out 3 weeks in a row, I am going to try running points this year. It sucks staying at one track for most of the season but we'll see how it goes. I want to try and make the bracket finals.

I usually go back and forth from track to track and then when a big buck race come up within a reasonable driving distance it's off we go! The bracket finals are always fun to go to though, I haven't been to one in a while due to the track not being sanctioned

So far I'm like this:

a semifinal in Open Comp, 2 races in, tied for 3rd in points
a 4th round (quarterfinal) in no electronics, 6 races in, one missed, tied for 14th in points.

Here's a shot from an early TNT this year:

And one from last month on the t-brake:

Nice shots and stats! Our track at TRRP hasn't even started points yet and I've won already once in No/E .

They are still debating and having a vote this weekend to either bracket race 1/8th or 1/4

I tried to have them to add this option "S/P run 1/8th & No/E 1,000ft" just to kinda split the difference between the guys that want 1/8 and the ones that want 1/4.

Doesn't matter to me I'll be there racing either way.

Well after making a hell of alot of changes to the car since i've had it at the track last which was opening day at Rt. 66 in Joliet, IL back in 09(blew up the trans pretty well) I decided to hit the track. The tune is really close and everything is buttoned up. I get to the track go through tech, tech trys to move the battery and it really doesn't move. Make the first hit.....BOOM....You would have thought I hit the car with a 300 shot and it backfired. The battery happened to rock back somehow and weld itself to the fender. Look at the hold down, it cracked. Factory hold down FTL. Make my one and only time pass and it goes ok. First round, not only do I red light by .022 and break out by .040. Talk about depressing.

My season hasn't started out very good. I have been to 6 races and I have only won 2 rounds, the luck just has not been going my way. Most of my losses are close races only few thou at the stripe but they are falling the other way. But i tell myself i have to keep going because i definitely cant win sitting at the house. I'm going to a two day race in Valdosta this weekend, here's hoping it all turns around.

I run UMTR (United Manual Transmission Racers) this year for points. I am running the street stick class cause I have a clutch assisted shift trans.

anyways we have had 3 races so far, but only one of them has went through without being rained out.

anyways I made it to the final, and had 3 10.971 passes in a row! and thats with a stick in a 3800lb 6 speed car!

BUT In the finals I red lighted (-.013) vs a mustang that ended up breaking his clutch. but at least I ran a dead on pass!

I cant wait for the next race. I am first in points right now.
