how to check codes???

Default how to check codes???

i need to chack a code my car is throwing... i only took off the valve covers and that is all... and when i put them back on and the car is ideling rough like a spark plug isnt pluged in... but i have reset the ses light and redone every wire about 6 times and it is still doing it!!! can i chack it on my hpp3 or what?? the only place that does it by me is about 20 min away and dont want to mess up the car!!! thanks

You need to have autotap or another software like that to check your code. You can not use HPP3 to check your code. Take your car to AutoZone and have them check to see what code you are showing. Then ask on this site what can be done to fix the code.

harbor freight if you have one of those stores or big lots usually sells a generic OBDII code scanner/clearer for $19. handy to have if you are not nearly a computer or autozone

OMG I was in Harbor Freight yesterday!! I had no idea that you could get a basic OBDII scanner! Harbor Freight rocks. I dont suppose you have a part number do you?

If all you did is take off the valve covers, it's very possible you forgot to re-connect a line and have a vacuum leak. Although I don't recall if our computers throw a code for that or not

yeh it was like that but on sale for $19, i guess some stores have different promo.

anyways. Keep an eye out ebay for used ones, and harborfreight runs coupons/promo's ALOT. Such a cool store. It's like the mans afliction of junk to women to ikea.
