Default Quick opinion: Running an 02 Gasket(.060) vs. pre-02 gasket(.054)

Anybody think .06 would make that much of a difference? I'm running 5.3's milled .015. That puts me right around 11:1, i'd like to stay right in that area if possible..

Which gaskets are you running now? And why are you considering a swap?

I bought the 02 gaskets because they're aluminum, instead of the graphite material of the old ones which is a PITA to clean off when pulling the heads. Didn't know at the time that the 02's were a tad thicker...

GM may have thickened gasket dimension because of cold engine piston slap complaints. When carbon builds up enough on pistons it can actually touch head and cause noise in extreme cases, as motor heats up clearance grows between them. This is probably the case in many so called piston slap cases, not loose fitting piston to bore condition that most people believe is causing it.
