Default new from nor cal

hey im new here and going to be starting a project involving an ls1 and an s13 240sx coupe shortly. i will be using the swap kit and parts from daft innovations along with mostly the usual Japanese parts for the rest of the car (suspension, body, ect.)

a few concerns and questions i have is how reliable is the stock ls1? is there anything i should look out for when looking for a motor and transmission? certain years and stuff to buy and not to buy?

another reason why i chose to do the ls1 compared to other popular 240sx swaps (sr20det, rb25det ect) is the ls1 is lighter i have been told and well has the torque.

any input and information for this ls1 noob would be appreciated!

(btw this is kinda what im looking to build along these lines, this car also has an ls1. http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z.../IMG_2929r.jpg )

its been a while since ive been on here. but no its not my 240. since i posted this i actually bought a 97 240 s14.

but ya im going to love the torque lol. and seeing how i want to drift it more than anything it will be no problem to break the rear end loose with a v8. all of my cars i have have owned have all had 4 cylinders so im going to be stoked once i can finish the swap.

also i had a question on a decent clutch. im not going to be doing anything to the engine besides an exhaust and intake since they have to be custom. all i have experience with is act clutches. i ran a street disc in my old evo 8 and i was very impressed with it. what do you guys suggest?

Since your not putting out much HP and keep your cost down I would do a LS7 clutch or a stage 3 spec clutch. You can always spend more then $550 and up if you want.
