Alpine 9886 HU.. iPod Cable Question
I just installed this new unit in my Jeep, and I got the same one for my Trans Am..
Here is my question.. The HU came with a cable to connect to my iPod.. Ok that's great and all...... But why doesn't the cable charge my iPod??? It says something on the screen but forgot what

Here is another question that I have:
When I shut the car off (obviously radio turns off to) why is my iPod still running? Wouldn't cutting power to the radio automatically kill power to the iPod? I meant as soon as you plug it in with the cable it turns it on.....
So everytime I turn the car off, I need to physically unplug the cable from the iPod and turn it off?? Kind dumb isn't it?

Here is a pic of the iPod cable that comes with the radio and a pic of the back of the HU..
As you can see the blue portion of the cable, it plugs into that back of the femal plug of the HU
EDIT: Apparently there is a 7" cable from Alpine that fixes problem

I have had this same unit for a lil over a year now in my car and I tried to listen to a CD the other day and it just reads ERROR and wont play. Even tried CD's that I had bought from stores and still wont work. Any thoughts?
