I had that one in my V6, if I remember it doesn't charge the newer ipods. It charged my 5th gen but not a friends 6th gen or my iPhone.

FYI.

*Note: The Full Speed cable will not charge the iPod nano (4th/5th generation) or iPod touch (2nd/3rd generation) without the Alpine KCX-422TR 12V-to5V iPod adapter (500KCX422T, sold separately). Apple firmware updates may change functionality results.

Here is another question that I have:

When I shut the car off (obviously radio turns off to) why is my iPod still running? Wouldn't cutting power to the radio automatically kill power to the iPod? I meant as soon as you plug it in with the cable it turns it on.....

So everytime I turn the car off, I need to physically unplug the cable from the iPod and turn it off?? Kind dumb isn't it?

Here is a pic of the iPod cable that comes with the radio and a pic of the back of the HU..

As you can see the blue portion of the cable, it plugs into that back of the femal plug of the HU

EDIT: Apparently there is a 7" cable from Alpine that fixes problem
