Default Thrush Welded Mufflers

Well, I have a noisy rattling (blown-out) stock muffler so I decided to replace them and went with 2 of these. They look like 2 chamber flowmasters but are only 40 bucks each. Not a bad deal at all. Here is a link:

Anyone on here run these? Thanks in advance.

Sure, I'll take a camera vid. after install. I am sure it will sound great but it won't have the headers on it yet. I also ordered new exahust tips too. I got everything at Advanced Auto for 140.00.

Well, all I can say is these things are LOUD!!! I ordered a 26" stainless resonator and thank God it's going on Friday. The drone will knock your teeth loose... I know I shattered a few windows on the way to work this morning. At least I get a free back message for a week until the res. goes on. I would not reccommend these if you don't have a resonator. I bet straight pipe is not as annoying.... I'll keep you all updated.

Not to jack the thread but, I am putting some of these mufflers on today actually and was wondering if the resonator is going to take away much airflow or power?

The stock res. is a straight trough pipe with preforations on the inside pipe. Then there is some packing material and then the outside pipe. If you do put these on make sure you keep the resonator on. Trust me... I also run no cat so I am sure that also makes a difference on how loud it is too. I can't wait to get the resonator put on. Never thought I would say that. lol...

This is the one I went with.

One thing I did notice is after I removed my cat it sounded awesome at idle but under load or going down the road they have a lot of rasp. I like how they sounded driving down the road better when i had the cat on. Im prolly going to switch over to a single magnaflow when i get my 3" setup instead of one of these. I hope that helps ya.

Sounds good at idle but very raspy on the rev.

I'm running the stock resonater with no mufflers at all. Other than some drone under acceleration, we like it!

Ok, I have to be honest... I HATE these mufflers. Not because of thier quality but because the drone is aweful. I even put a 26" stainless resonator on too and it only helped about 10 - 15% of the drone. I just bit the bullet and purchased 2 Magnaflows and am calling it a day. I want a good sound but I also want to have a conversation in my car while I am driving. If people like a very loud exhaust and crazy drone then the Thrush Fully Welded Muffler is for you. They are identical to 2 chamber Series 40 Flowmasters and if I was debating between the 2 I'd go with the Thrush ones because of price. BTW-I got 2 SS Magnaflow mufflers for 46.00 each with FREE shipping, part number 13215.

I am glad I went with the Magnaflows. I got 2 Stainless Steel Magnaflow XL Turbo's for 46.00 a pop. I could not resist since the drone is so loud in the car right now. The Thrush's sound great outside the car, especially with a resonator, but inside it sounds like a tuba is playing behing my head. Especailly in the 2500 - 3000 rpm range. If I was 18 again I wouldn't care as much but I am pushing 40 and it is just too loud. I am sure I will like my decision with the Magnaflows much, much better.

I might try those mufflers VERY soon. As I mentioned in another thread, I have the catless Hogan downpipe on the way. My current setup is basically stock, but with the mufflers removed. Once the cat is gone, all that will be muffling my car is going to be the resonator.

Needless to say, it might be a bit loud!
