Default How to remove rear brake backing plates?

I am building an 8.8 rearend. I have the 8.8 and the 10 bolt that I am using. However, the 10 bolt im using has drum brakes.

Id like to leave my 10 bolt on my car together just in case I need a backup.

Do I need to take the axles off and what else do i need to do to get the backing plates off so I can use my disk brakes?

You need to open the cover remove the small bolt holding the pin, slide pin out then push one axle all the way in remove the c-clip repeat steps on other axle. slide axles out then unbolt the backing plates.
