Default Opinions - Satin Black On TA Vert?

My car is a rebuild, so it is currently 3 different colors. I need a paint job and have been trying to decide on the color. Everything behind my front fenders is red, the original color of the car. I have always stayed away from darker colors like red, blue, and black because they are hard to keep sharp. They show every little scratch, swirl mark, and paint chip. I spend enough time working on this car and don't want to add more work trying to keep a paint job sharp. I also have the red leather interior and would like a color that would contrast with the red and really make the interior pop when the top is down. I was first thinking either white or silver, the colors I have always gotten and have found to be the easiest to take care of. They also look good with the red interior.

But I recently saw the pics of Ocala93TA's LT1 TA done in Hot Rod Black, which is a satin finish. With that color, I shouldn't have to worry about swirl marks and clear coat scratches. I sent him a pm asking about how easy the paint was to take care of, and he confirmed that it was easy to take care of and durable. But the satin finish is kind of a old-school muscle car look and I'm not sure if a vert can pull it off. So how do you guys feel an LT1 TA Vert would look with black top, satin black paint, and red leather interior? or

FYI, here is the car I am talking about.

It 'd look great with satin black and red interior, I am assuming your dash/center console/door panels/carpet is still black.

On a convertible it 'd look great. A convertible only looks good w/ top down IMO, since the with the square top kinda kills the lines of the car.

if your vert top is black, go for it. it should look good.

I'm going to be painting my car with the same stuff, but only as a temporary job, till i go for the color i really want.

I say do it as well, but then again, I'm a sucker for flat black.

Yeah, I got your reply not long after I made this post. Sorry, didn't mean to sound like I was calling you out for no response. I will edit my first post so no one thinks that.

I like it. For a car that looks aggressive, the satin black looks real menacing. I have always liked the look of a satin black TA and there are only a handful of people who have ever done it.

I agree about white...most of the vehicles I have owned have been white. White is the easiest color to keep sharp. Doesn't show every little scratch and swirl mark like darker colors. And that was the color I originally wanted to paint this car. White with red interior in a vert looks cool!! I also considered silver. The new 370Z has a color called Brilliant Silver which gleems in the sun. Also an easy color to take care of.

But the satin black really looks badass on a muscle car. And it should be easier to keep sharp than gloss black.
