Default Rebuilt 4L60E, No Overdrive or Lockup, Help!!!

As the title states, I rebuilt my tranny and installed a brand new 4000 stall converter. I just got off the phone with the dyno tuner and he said I have no overdrive or torque converter lockup. What could be the cause of these not working?? Bad valvebody? Torque Converter?? My tuner and trans guy are on it. I'm just curious.

Some transmission codes will disable 4th gear and LU. I would be looking there first. Also If you have made any ratio changes the computer might detect a slip. With that being said it might have the same effect as what you are experiencing.

Are you throwing a P1870 code? That is one of the codes that will disable both lock-up and OD. It will also cause the transmission to go to max line pressure, so it would shift hard as a rock.

I just scanned for DTC's with HP tuners, no dtc's were present. Will HP tuners store history codes? Or would I have to drive it in order to get them to appear?

Monitor TCC_Mode while you drive. If you see it show
"--3--" this is telling you it wants to lock but is held
off; usually misfires. Small diameter converters often
need misfire detects tamped down.

Similarly look at Trans Current Gear to determine intent.
If it shows 4, maybe it's just the looseness of the
converter and lack of lockup, not feeling much different
from 3rd.

If you read codes, immature codes (seen, but not enough
times to set the light) will show as such.

They might have sent you a nonlocking convertor.

Well I think I have my TCC circuit wired incorrectly. Im guessing that once I install a relay in the circuit that I'll have lockup.

What kind of causes could take out 4th gear by itself? I have 1, 2, and 3 still

So this is some sort of custom control harness?

If you do that, you need both to ground the TCC
valve, and apply 12V to the TCC pressure control
valve (proper name?). If you don't give juice to
the pressure valve, you get 0% of line applied at
lockup.

Well I rechecked my work and it appears that I have the TCC wiring done correctly and that my problem may lie deeper. Its a speartech custom harness btw

Internally, what could cause me to not have 4th gear and torque converter lockup?
