Default Roy Oswalt requests to be traded

Do the right thing for once, Drayton. Trade him.

He has been an ace for your Astros for years now and you have slowly took away his run support. He deserves better than this team.

Did I mention Drayton McLane is a dumbass?

Saw it earlier. Sucks to see him go, but I want him to actually have a chance at ring again. Hopefully we get some good value. We should have traded Valverde and Tejada at the break last year. Ed Wade is retarded.

LOL @ releasing Matsui btw.

Roy is awesome. I hope he goes somewhere where he actually has a chance to succeed. This awful organization is drowning him.

Love Roy, but put a sock in it. You signed the contract and the team will trade you when they feel the need to. And calling Drayton a dumbass is pretty funny. Makes me wonder who you think isn't.

And I don't care if my favorite athlete on my team is good yet never gets a ring. And I sure as hell won't find it cool if he does it on another team.

Nothing like going to the ATM and checking that balance and seeing all those zeros to cheer you back up.

I disagree with the idea that Drayton is cheap, to an extent. The major league payroll is very high. The problem is WHERE that money is spent. Carlos Lee is underperforming, as is Berkman, Pence, Matsui (released), the Tejada debacle, etc. Then there are the minor leagues, where it was a combination of poor picks and Drayton refusing to pay draft picks more than he thought he should. The Astros lost a ton of talent through high dollar (low dividend) trades and poor money management, and now it has come home to roost.

Trade Roy, trade Berkman, and if you can get a lot of good young talent for him, trade Pence. This team is going nowhere for the next 2-3 seasons, so don't let good players go past their prime waiting for the team to be competitive again.

Yeah. He spends too much money is some places and takes shortcuts in other places. I don't care for his decision making.

I'd like the team to be built around Bourn and Pence. I'm pretty sure we are stuck with Carlos. I don't see him waiving his no-trade clause and I don't see any team really wanting to give up much for him anyway. He'd fit in well in the AL as a DH if he could learn how to hit again.

Sorry, no relation. I just find it funny a grown man name calling, and towards a billionaire to boot. LMFAO!!!!

No player is bigger than the game. Sure he gets no run support but so have plenty of other pitchers. Have you just started watching baseball?

I don't think it's just about run support. It's about going to a winner.

Astros have a junk team and an ever worse farm system. Things are not looking good for the near future.

The fact of the matter is, the Astros are terrible, and they won't be good for a number of years. It makes no sense to keep a player past his prime when you can get value for him right now. No matter how good he plays this year, or the next, or the next, the team will still be a loser.

On a personal level I'd like to see Roy succeed, whether it's here or elsewhere. It'd be a good thing for both parties if he were traded. It'd suck for me because I love watching him pitch, but oh well.
