General LSX Automobile Discussion - My exhaust stinks

It smells kinda like gas and makes my eyes sting,no smoke other than a little condensation before it warms up.The tips are not all sooted up so I don't think its running rich.I done an engine swap a few months ago and took it to get tuned.I am about 40 to 50 hp low and the tuner said that I had a bad cam or a bad cam install but I opened it up and it looked ok, dot over dot.My mods are full exhaust, ported throttlebody,lid,some kinda aftermarket cam I got for free don't know the specs but I know it made some good power on a blower 346 setup.Hope some one can help

I will think you are 40 to 50 hp low because of the cam!! remember it was made for blower application!! you don't know nothing on the cam/specs and you install it to you car who knows what is going on!!

Yeah how do you know you are 40-50 hp low if you don't even know the cam specs????

I guess I was expecting to make about 370rwhp more or less given the mods I've done to the car.However it makes sense to think since it is na it would not run right

the low power could be because of improper cam selection.....most LS1's with long tubes and no cats will have a fuel smell to the exhaust, but not enough to make your eyes water.

The exhaust will always stink without cats. And it'll be even worse with a cam.

I use to smell the gas .. not anymore though!
