Default 3.23 Gears and Engine RPM

I got my 98 about 2200-2400 RPM and at 55 RPM is right below 2000 RPM.

Now I know my 3.4 had 3.23s and at 70mph it did 2100RPM, I know my LS1 is a completely different engine but I figured it would be about the same.
I also don't feel the converter locking up, is there that much slippage?

It is a 98 LS1 Auto w/3.23s just to make sure y'all have the right info, ohh and it's all stock.

It sounds like you're right that the converter is not locking up. You should feel 4 shifts to know that it is locked up.

Would a HPT scan be able to tell me if it is locking up?

converter lockups are subtle,difficult sometimes to feel. the RPMs look about right for a locked converter.
try this:when cruising at 70,just cruising not accelerating,tap the brake,the brake circuit unlocks a locked converter.

try it both ways,shouldn't make a difference in tach readings.
also,from a stop,accelerate very mildly(just above idle but enough to accelerate),you should feel and see(tach)the 1st to second shift,same with 2nd to 3rd,same with 3rd to 4th,once in 4th,and after the 3/4 shift, a couple hundred drop in tach rpm indicates lockup.

Alright I tried the start from a stop and slow accelerate, and sometimes I THINK it MIGHT have lock-up, but others it didn't. I even tried going 55 and hitting the brake while giving gas to see if it would unlock, and no dice. I'm thinking I have no lock-up.

What is a sure fire way to see what gears you have?
I looked at my door code and is says I have 3.23s but I wanna make sure.

Hooked it up to a scanner and it read liek it was brand new, so the convert is locking up.
I must have 3.42s
