What do you have removed out of it? That doesn't sound like a pig to me, my car weighs 3550 lbs with a full tank of gas.

Just VFN glass hood, convo pro drag wheels with all season tires, and ac compressor and condenser is off the car for now and magnaflow bullet with turndown, QA1's. The SFC,LCA's,LCA relocation brackets added weight. I bet with buffer, oil, tire and jack it would be in the 3200's. I need to add the bmr k-memeber and remove the sway bar lol oh and i just filled my windsheild washers fluid up lol

My 69 'bird is at 3650 race weight on a certified state scale, that's with 210 of me and a 1/2 tank of fuel in it. Even the old ones are pigs.

That's not bad for a steel car though. Most of these newer cars are made of plastic. Really no reason they should be so heavy at all.

You get more structure for crash safety plus the carpet is thicker, sound deadener, etc all add up in a hurry.

I wont say what Mine weighs with me in it. But I would kill to be 250 pounds....

Anyways, thats not to bad. Camaros are heavier on average, even with same options. and I have a fully loaded 12 bolt and man this thing is heavy. With 385 rwhp I trap 113. I got a buddy with a little more power (405ish) in a camaro, VERY same drivetrain 6 speed 12 bolt, but weighs maybe 165 trapping 118 so beleive me weight makes a difference.

Like said, Yup, you gotta work for it, and having a better platform (see Camaro) will help and making sure it stays a Aluminum block will help too. Most people need to spend $$$ at that point and also the car has been basically totally gutted.

When it comes to racing where driver is factored in, getting the most capable and lightest driver is a very important thing.

In a race, the jockey sometimes counts as much as the horse.
