Ok guys don't hammer me if it's a dumb question. will a ls2 cam work on our cars? If so what all would I need (other than the cam)?

Yes it will, an LS2 cam is not worth the time, an LS6 cam is barely worth the time, a small aftermarket cam is better suited. Some people don't, but it's always a good idea to change cam springs, pushrods, and lifters at the same time.
