Generation IV Internal Engine - thinking about a lil more cam, tell me what ya think...

current cam COMP LSL 247/255 113+2. ok, but I think this engine could use a bit more. thinking about a COMP LSL 255/259 115+2. I am trying to peak power at 5000 and up. There is no shortage of low end torque, so not real worried about that. Anyone tried this cam in a 416? Or has anyone worked with a 115 LSA?
I've got one cam company saying, 257/259 116+4, 650 lift. I'm a little concerned about the loss of scavenging with the wider lobes.
car runs low 130.X normally. last trip out a few 11.0s, crappy shifting. I'm mainly interested in top end power, more mph. ET will follow.
Comments?

Why not go a 260s solid roller and victor junior?

i don't think that cam will pick up alot. the intake is already a restriction imo. it might be able to let you carry more rpm with the slightly wider lsa and more duration though but it will not gain much hp. just my .02

a solid is not out of the question. I'm trying to sift through data, yet it seems very sparse. I would like to get a confirmation from someone that has tested a larger lobe with wider LSA. I guess in the end, I am headed for a solid and should just probably go ahead and do it.
I like looking at data from experimentation.

you might be better off getting one of those cams that has the solid roller lobes but uses hydraulic lifters. also if you don't mind giving up probably 20-30 rwtq to pick up top end a vic jr with the right cam should put some top end hp.

You got a link to those lobes? I've got a pretty high seat pressure on my springs now, that might work.

The intake manifold will force a power peak of around 6300 rpm regardless of the cam you choose. Of course, you can cheat a later power peak with more duration, but it will not be in harmony with the tuned runner length and cross sectional area of your FAST 90.
Better solution would be to get an intake manifold with shorter runners. A custom sheet metal intake would be the best solution for a Vette with a low hood.

I was questioning the capabilities of the 90/90. I'm at a disadvantage though. Could you point me to a company or suggest someone that does this type of work? Intakes are easy to take on /off, so thats a worthy experiment. Are there any out there you have worked with and/or have data on?
Now, when you say runner length. Does the distance from the air filter to the TB count? If I removed that entire section and filtered the TB only (I'm SD tuned), would that help? I could move the IAT to the top of the intake or somewhere else.
Hymey, regarding the previous info on a Victor Jr. Were you talking about going carb'd or do I just throw my TB on the carb hole.

Beck is one of the better companies for making a custom LSX cathedral port sheet metal intake to fit a Vette. Wilson and Hogan are two other companies to research. Beck has done a ton of vehicles on this board including many record setters.

thanks.
update:
d! the guy that put my plugs in gapped all of them 0.015" off from my spec.
He did that to me once before. No kidding, when I corrected them, I actually gained a few mph at the track. Its amazing what you can get just tweaking this and that, checking intake bolts, etc.
