Default Wings West SS Spoiler Questions.

I'm thinking of buying this spoiler, I'm sure every one is familiar with it. My question is how good is the quality? Should I order it painted or get it painted some where else? So if anyone has bought this spoiler please give me some feedback, I dont want to put some POS parts on my Z.

Like all parts, it needs a little finishing. I found the underneath needed to have the mounting insert nuts ground down a little.. There were a few primer cracks, but a good shop can fix and paint it for $200 plus or minus..

i had the same problem's dand35th had, but i also noticed that the fiberglass was of pretty poor quality. its pretty wavy, but it is stil worth the money.

Mine looked great. I also sell RK Sport and have had an LG Motorsports wing all on f-body cars. This one has the best finish of all of them but fit is a different issue. I had to open the hole that the light goes through on the driver side to get it to sit down flat on the deck lid. Other than that I had no problems with it. I don't have any waves in mine or cracks in the gel coat. If it shows up like that I would file a claim on the shipper if the gel coat was cracked and if it just looked shotty send it back. I haven't sold many of this particular spoiler but mine was fine and a couple more have been fine as well.

Thank you guys for responding, very informative. ExtremeZ28 I to would like to know why your spoiler does not sit flush. Maybe something is in between the deck and the spoiler <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> . I've wanted the ss spoiler since I got the Z, now that I found a good deal I think I'm going to buy it. If any one else has .02 cents to throw in please do.

Mine didn't fit either, I was extremely pissed because I had to sand down the decklid. The decklid/hatch area has a raised area where the wiring for the spoiler goes through. The WW spoiler does not have the recess molded into it like the stock spoiler, so you either sand down the hatch or cut a hole in the bottom of the spoiler. Since I was dumb and listened to the person who had their spoiler pre-painted and said they did a great job, I had mine pre painted and I had to sand the decklid down. To top it off the spoiler sits 1/8 inch too high and needed to be sanded down to fit flush.

Blue Meanie's situation sounds similiar to mine. Mine wasn't prepainted and wasn't that big of an issue to fix. Pretty typical for all fiberglass components in my opinion. You should see the US Body hood I got. It was by far the most incomplete and time consuming product I've ever bought. If you don't feel comfortable doing the finish work or paying someone to do it get the GM SS spoiler.
