Default Ls1 into a 2007 new body silverado

I'm wondering if my ls1 from my 98 t/a will work on a 2007 new body silverado pick up truck. And what's needed for the swap? Will the stock harness just plug in?

For some power, isn't it common for people to put ls1's in trucks?
Plus it only has a 4.8 engine

I have an ls3 for the fbody and the ls1 would be a spare engine, what I want to know is if it will work with the new body. Or is there an engine harness that I need or what all is needed or the swap?

Swap the longblock in and reflash the PCM for the extra cubes. Dont worry about wiring for a 4.8 to 5.7 swap

you will need one of these.
58x-24x-reluctor-wheel-electronic-adapter-module.html

And the crank position sensor is on the front.

4.8's run ok too. My 07 4.8 NNBS ran a 13.70

D'oh

Missed the 07 part. It'd be GEN IV which requires the necessary changes above along with joining the knock sensor wires into one connector. Its the cam sensor thats moved to the timing cover though

So just about the same things needed for an ls2/ls3 into an fbody, is the harness the same one from leignfilter?

What cam are you running in that truck? Any other mods besides the cam, converter?

I don't really see why need for a swap. Just build the 4.8 in it.

Swap the crank from the ls1 into the 4.8(use 4.8 reluctor), add a torq-full cam, 3500 stall, headers and an exhaust system and have some fun without wiring headaches.

That's an idea. Then you'd have a flat top 5.3. Those motors come with good heads (243/799) and good intakes.

Of course, if you're gonna swap the crank, then just bore it and swap the whole rotating assembly over from the LS1. Then you'd have a fresh iron block 5.7.

Or just build a turbo kit for the 4.8.

BLOWN SS/T if your serious about the swap, click the link at the top of your screen "PERFORMANCE TRUCKS" and post this in there. You will recieve more than enough information to help you decide.

IMO - dont waste your time or money on that 4.8, they are potent motors but will leave you wanting more. ie. cubes

If you're going that far, why not just use a 58x reluctor on the alum block LS1 and drop it in as a whole

Yeah, that's true and loose a little weight to boot.
