My trans leaks from the front. Right now it's out of the car since I am working on the motor. How hard is it to replace the front seal in a 99 Corvette T56?
If I open up that front cover, can I replace it from the outside, or does that whole trans have to come apart? Anybody have experience with this?

You can just pull the front midplate and replace the inputshaft seal.. Clean off the flanges and seal it back with a light coat of RTV.

When removing the front plate off of it, be careful not to lose the pin that rides in the shaft. When reinstalling the front plate, make sure to line up the detent mechanism with the pin in the shaft. A little grease will help keep it in place so it doesn't want to slide out.

OK, Thanks guys, I will take pictures when I have it apart so everyone else can see how it's done. I thought that a front seal should be pretty easy to replace from the front, but was not sure since it is in a Corvette. Everything else is difficult.
