Default plug on passenger side block(void if removed)

I got a 04 6.0 engine. can someone tell me what this void if removed silver plug is for? I knicked it when I was preparing my block for paint. Thanks

Sounds like a reman temperature indicator. Shops will install them on engines to tell if they have been overheated so they don't have to pay a warranty claim.

I have successfully removed a few of those and am hanging on to them just in case.
