Default need help, switching out bad 10 bolt

hey guys i need some help with my new ls1 i just got. its a 99 a4 z28 and the rearend in it is shot. it has a nasty whine/low down groan and it needs to be swapped out. i have a stock 10 bolt out of a 02 ws6 that has 20k miles on it. now id like to have an all data tear down and replace worksheet so i have all the torque specs and such and some hints/tips to make the job go smoothly. ive been told that i will have to have the backing plates pressed on?(im a newbie to rearends) any help will be greatly apprechiated!

3 channel has a sensor on top of rearend

4 channel does not have that sensor on top of rearend but has instead a sensor at each rear wheel mounted in/to the backing plate.

you can look at the ring gear inside the diff and it will have two stamped numbers indicating the number of teeth on the ring and spyder gears, divide those two numbers together and you'll get the gear ratio of that rear end. They'll be RPO codes on your car too i believe.
