Alrighty, well I'm new as of today but not new to the site. I love reading all the info. you guys shell out. I have alot of questions and can't seem to come up with answers so I decided I would give all of you a shot.
My boyfriend has a silver 98' firebird formula and as of right now is all about the weight saving issues. He wants to pull the air pump out because all he says it does it warm up the cats when starting up the engine. It supposably saves 7 pounds but there is a big debate as to weither this will mess anything else up.
So what do you think, pull the pump and save the weight or leave it in?
Thanx

If you pull the pump, it won't hurt anything if you have the computer custom programmed to disable it. Otherwise, you will get an SES code if you just remove it. Check out the weight savings list posted at the top of the Drag Racing forum for even more ideas of things to remove.
Thanks for participating on the site, welcome!

No offense boys, but why does it matter if my guy registers. I mean really, women are not taken seriously enough in the car world. But i guarantee that all will change!

None taken. We just like the fact that our board is the largest group of knowledge on the LS1 engine, and always want to keep our board alive with new people and enthusiasts such as yourself, and possibly your boyfriend. He just might like the site! We like to keep our board growing, and the more people we reach expands our hobby, too.
I agree that women aren't taken seriously enough in the car world. How about this........... Invite some of your F-Body enthusiast female friends to check out the site and register. Hell, MY MOTHER is the one that got me interested in cars!!!:judge:

Yeah it's true, it is his car. But i do hope to very soon have a car of my own. Currently I own a piece of crap 2002 Mustang V6. This is something I am not proud of and came about because of my parents. But my love is the f-body and soon I will have a baby of my own. There really arn't any girls I know of that would join, but I have been told by my boyfriend Chris that he has an account but won't tell me his name. So if anyone knows of a guy named Chris with a silver 98 formula let me know.

7-10lbs weight loss from the air pump and hoses is nothing to really worry about. If he wants to start losing some weight have him ripe out the rear seats, spare tire and jack. That might be around 40lbs.
Peace,
Craig.
