Bout to graduate in a couple of semester's, I will have an AAS in welding. I have four years prior service military, and two years as a crane operator. What are some descent companies to work for? Im looking to go overseas or even offshore. Im in the Central Texas area and there arent many Welding jobs around here, or none that I have found atleast, it seems like everything is going down around the coast or in the oil field in West Texas any ideas???

Well good thing spelling isn't required in welding.... I think you mean a welder... But anyway I recommend moving to south Texas, Gulf of Mexico area. All those Oil refineries, and rigs out there. I bet theirs always an opening for welders in that area.

If submarine robots with diamond cutters don't work I'm sure BP will try underwater ninja welders next...so I hope you're ninja too.

SCUBA diving is easier than welding, btw. So don't let that deter you.

I know, there are a few of them. It was for the OP. Some people think SCUBA is hard and it's actually pretty easy. I was just putting in .02.

Well in literature from what i have learned the (...) signifies a break or pause in literature.
And Their's is the correct pronunciation of the word for this usage. Because you are adding possession of the welders in that area. There would of been used if i used if i said " "Welders should be in high demand over there." Just the way I learn the English language.

There are guys that have been sitting on their butts for over a year now, and I don't know when things will turn around.

I don't even know what a good job market looks like for a welder, when I got out of trade-school we were in a recession.

I landed a welding job 100 miles away from my house, and been working there and going to school for 2 years, and will probably be working there till I get my Bachelors.

A few guys I worked with got fired over a year ago and they still aren't working, so it's pretty rough.

Kind of depressing hearing about the current economy situations, however if the market is that bad for welders it has to turn around sometime (doesnt it)? At this point in life im not interested in underwater welding, but im not saying i would not do it. I was hoping someone would speak of a job overseas or stateside that i could look into. I have a secret security clearance from the army and was hoping that would help me stick out a little.
