Camaro burning more fuel than usual?
Hey all,
I'm new to the forum and just wanted some advice on a recent problem I've been having.
I own a 1998 Camaro SS and I have been burning through fuel at about twice the rate I should be. I'm getting less than 10 mpg when I usually get around 20 mpg.
I'm not really sure what is going on; a few mechanics that I work with thought I might have filled up with "bad gas" or gas that has too much ethanol. I don't think this is the case because I've filled up a several different places.
Some things that I have already tried:
-Disassembled and cleaned the MAF sensor (including sensor wires) and the throttle body
-Replaced my air filter
-Changed oil and filter
Anyone have any ideas about what could cause this?

Welcome to the forum.......
+2 on the leaky injector. But usually they cause misfires and rough idle and sometimes hard starts. Easy to check them, you need to pop the fuel rails up and turn the key to "on" so the fuel pump primes, then look for any of them leaking.
Is the engine running perfectly?

I am the original poster of this message (Deimares), but I had to change my user name for various reasons. Thanks for all of the responses so far.
I haven't checked if I am throwing any codes, but I am not getting a check engine light.
I only have a few bolt on mods: SLP air lid and cat back exhaust for the time being.
When I changed my oil I didn't detect any gas scent, in fact the engine is running smoothly, no upper RPM break up, no hard starts or rough idles.
I just filled up with a new tank of gas, so I'll know soon enough if it truly was "bad gas." I'll also check the injectors tomorrow to see if I find any leaks.
