96RamAirTA- apparently the op is oblivious to that fact...back to the Navy's new corvette, the speed can be anywhere from 40 - 60 knots depending on configuration and load! That is hauling serious *** for 300+ FT warship!

it's alleged that the Mustang was in fact named after the P-51 Mustang, the most dominant fighter of WWII.

yes corvette was a class of fast moving war ship in wwii. i'm sure there is a website that talks about it. maybe wiki. but i'm too lazy to go look it up.

but that^ ship design has been in the works for quite some time.

300 foot and up to 60 knots? I guess that's pretty fast, but I've seen bigger ships go much-MUCH faster! The quickest I was on was 572 feet and saw her making 67 knots! You didn't step out onto the weatherdeck with your cover on - believe me! Plotted a 1000+footer going even a little quicker than that!

Corvette goes back much further than WW2.
