Default LONG TIME for your pc to load our site? Please let me know!!!!

I occasionally get complaints about site speed, but I'd like to hear from folks.

I'd like to know how long it takes for a section or thread to load. I'd also like to know if you are on a dialup and your connection speed is.. I will assume you have a fairly decent computer but if you don't well let me know that too so I can delete your reply.

I am on a AOL 52K dialup from home and threads take about 2 seconds to load unless the server has like 450+ online, then its' 3 seconds.

At work I am on a DSL, and it takes 1 second to load most everything.

I'm on my college connection, ethernet or whatever the hell it is, and it takes less than a second to load, although right now everyone's on campus is having problems, and now it's taking about 5 seconds to load. Back home I'm on retardly slow dialup, takes about a minute to load a thread.

My friend has Earthlink, and it's taking him 5 minutes to load a thread in the FI section.

Threads take me less than a second usually.. 3MBit cable connection at home, on an AMD 2500+ box w/ nVidia GeForce 4 MX440 video and 512MB ran. At work I have a basically identical box with a 10MBit ethernet connection to the net.

Occasionally just hitting the back button will take up to 10 seconds or longer to display the previous page. Browsing foreward us usually pretty fast, 1-2 seconds. I'm on cable modem. The text disappearing on edited posts is kind of a PITA though.

At work... P4 1.8ghz 1gig RAM running on T1 connection. It takes approx. 10-15 seconds to open a thread. Better than it was but still lags a bit.

10-15 seconds? I've never had it take that long on the new server... Even right now with 470+ people online, it's still 1-2 seconds per page.

yep, it takes that long. There aren't any more no loads (blue screen) since the change, however.

It takes about the same time from home with DSL.
