Default M6 tranny problem or clutch related?

Ok how can I put this.....Pretty much I was getting on it and went to shift into fourth and made is big grinding noise so I threw it back into neutral. Went to put it back into gear and grinded and slipped after only 2k rpms and higher. I had to limp it home as I was not able to go past 30mph because the clutch wasnt holding, while still making a grinding noise and some vibration.
By the time I got home it was done, if I put it in any gear and release the clutch it just made some weird grinding noise and car wouldnt move.

So....today I dropped the tranny and clutch. Its a clutch clutch but everything seemed to be intact still? No busted springs, pp fingers still there, just really dusty and hot spots all over. So I was like "damn, is it the tranny?" Is there a way to test the tranny to see if its that? I just it in gear (4th) and both front/rear shafts turn the same time. I put it in neutral and just front input shaft spins. Sorry If i sound confusing and the long story, just dont want to put in a new clutch and it being the tranny. Any input I would greatly appreciate!!! thanks man

Well I believe I found the problem. Is the throwout bearing attached to the slave cylinder? Because I barely touched it and the spring and bearing piece came apart from the slave cylinder. Hopefully that's the problem

Good for you, hopefully the grinding you experienced was very limited in any actual hard part damage.
