Default patriot heads??

can anyone tell me why there are so many people against them? whats wrong with them, read through a couple different threads and saw people saying not to use them, but no one gives a reason as to why you shouldn't use them. does anyone know why?

thanks

From what I've read and researched, they make less power than other castings...

I had a buddy put some on a 98 camaro and made only 20 more hp with a decent sized cam. (cam already installed before head install). I think it was in the range of 228 232 at 670 on both sides.... Have also seen pics of these heads break where the intake rocker bolt bolts in. I think they are either just a bad port design or they are mean for larger displacement. Not too sure on all this so dont go crazy if im off a lil here.

They are as good as semi ported 243 heads. LOL because thats what they are. Its not that their not good but their are better ones for about same price. Made my bro 380rwhp with asa cam and those heads. So he got rid of them. Just go with 243 that you take to get ported or texas speed version

I had no issues with them. I made 813 to the wheels with 17-18 psi on a booty mount camaro. Ran them like that with no issue, out the box and all. I just sold them to i just cleand the valves and pressure tested them and they where fine.

STG 3 317 2.08 1.60 valves.
