Default WTF! $550.00 Opti......

My Opti is going I think and I called advanced and they want $550.00 for an ACDelco Half tempted to just buy an Accel. Am I looking in the wrong places? Guy at advanced say it came with "cap and rotor and distributor thingy" After he said "Wow what is this thing!"

Look for the parts pros on ebay. Thepartsladi doesn't exist anymore and thepartspros were basically her supplier IIRC. Loooooong story. If you look through the pages on this forum you'll probably find it before too long.

Because its cheaper then the Dynaspark... Were trying to go down in price from the AC unit lol

But I just installed my new Delco opti and the car runs better now, no slight idle surge or anything. I didnt pay anywhere near the selling price though lol

Only if you pop the rotor screws out and locktite them, then yes their sensor and casing are well made.

Pretty big thread about options in the post-partsladi era:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...lace-opti.html

I found yet a third outfit that seems to have taken the partsladi/partspros baton. From my post in thread above:

How about $250.00 for unvented, $295.00 for vented?

store name = "buyitnowmakeityours"

Look at the items they were selling before they started selling parts... WTF?

I was also intrigued by this one from "gr8hotrods" & probably will buy one even though I just installed a new Delphi:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/92-93...item45f2e3190b

Looking up what an Allen Synchrograph is:

"We unbox, modify, rebuild and test every single unit ourselves on our Allen Synchrograph to make sure you get a 100% working distributor with no issues, ready to drop-in and run."

Looks like they (buyitnowmakeityours) have 4 vented and 2 unvented left at time of this post...

^^^^Says listing removed

My advice on Opti's is simply this....Give the Chandler Motorsports opti a shot. I ordered one for $115 shipped with a one year warranty. I believe he also has one with a lifetime warranty for like $175. I personally had a 30-45 minute phone chat with Mr. Chandler himself. I asked him all the questions I knew people on tech would be interested in knowing. It seem like a very legit option to a $500 opti from somewhere else. He even gave me sales numbers and % failure rates. Im trying to talk him into coming on here as a sponsor as well. He is currently selling through ebay, but maybe with some encouragement, he will become a sponsor here. Here's the pics of the one I bought

Accel opti is junk to the people that had bad luck with them. My buddy has had one on his car for about 4 years, with many track days and romping on the street. Never had an issue..
