Default Broke shifter cable, now more issues

My shifter cable (a4) broke, and I put a new one in. I noticed that the gear indicator is not right (in drive in N, r is between P and n, etc), and when it park it will roll. Is there an adjustment procedure or something. Also, would this cause the obd II not to work, from not being fully engaged in park?

Okay, I did the adjustments as per this website http://shbox.com/trans/A4_trans_linkage.html
and now it will lock into gear, but it does not "click" into gear as crisp as it used to. Like to the point that I put it in drive, and it wouldn't shift out of first because it wasn't all the way in gear. Any ideas?

The adjustment is too tight, adjust it again (both levers in N); and then check that it positively goes into all gear positions.
