-.016 deck height?

Default -.016 deck height?

-.016 deck height is what came up,
machinest said there was a ding and had to mill.he never said how much.
.016 is what i got ,w/317 heads and .052 mls gaskets.the pistons are JE #883 flat tops/ -2cc valve releaves.figure he took 10.
am i ok????????????????????????????

That leaves .036" piston to deck. By most rules of thumb you should be good with steel rods. Especially with an aluminum block. Make sure you check at all four corner cylinders and using a deck bridge. I've seen some pretty large variance between banks and front to back.

Also, your machinist should be able to skim the piston tops a little to get some of that clearance back.

Default it is together now!

we are going to put the heads on tomarrow,
.016 is at center of pin.
we did not want to take the material of the top as there is only .200 on th JE 883's.i found a couple of threads withe the same issue and were fine.
