How much would it cost to have some flanges put on my headers/y and is it something any exhaust shop could easily do? I am tired of my slip fit connectors, they manage to leak no matter what i try.

Use a quality band clamp and before you put it on smear some copper RTV around the edges to seal it. If that still doesnt work for you have some Vband flanges welded on. Make sure someone GOOD dos it not some flunky. I dont care much for 3 bolt flanges

im putting flanges on my headers and y-pipe. i just ordered some 3 inch flanges and am going to weld them on the headers and then the y and put gaskets inbetween, should be a lot better than the slip on connectors

I had a shop put some 3 bolt flanges on my old setup it was like 35$ and it was waaaaay better than band clamps I had tried. No more leaks with a gasket in between.

and to go off of what Arc00TA said, I did this too and it's easier and faster to switch between TD exhaust and y-pipes I can do a exhaust changeout in 30 minutes...

Word to that one the change! I am gonna do the same thing and have a quiet exhaust setup that I can just hang in the corner of the garage and then finally make a real attempt at a boom tube setup. Thanks to the wonderful world of flanges. Also the key to having a good flange seal is a good gasket. I use the dead soft technology ones on all mine. Doesnt matter who makes them, they are all the same. Flowtech makes one that some O'reillys carry.

Cost me like 50 bucks to have done. Best thing I could do to my exhaust in my own opinion. Makes taking out my Y pipe super easy.
