What clutch do you recommend? Im looking to buy a new clutch and flywheel and I think I have it narrowed down to two. Im trying to decide if I wanna go a little cheaper and get the ls7 or cough up the money for a monster level 3. Right now my car is pretty much stock other than a level 3 transmission from six speeds inc. so the monster might be a little over kill but Im thinking it would be better to do it right the first time. Car will probably only see the track a few times a year and my only plans for mods in the near future are bolt ons and a cam. What do you guys think? Also, where can I get the best price on a monster or ls7?

Check out the Diamond stage 1. It is stronger than the Ls7, as it comes with a HD pressure plate and a copper woven carbon kevlar disc, rated at 500hp, and it only $369, 12-month warranty. Also have a stage 2 and 3. Check out the website www.diamondclutch.com

PS - There are several options for the flywheel. If you get the Stage 1 then you can get your stock flywheel resurfaced for around $35. It is not necessary to get a high-dollar flywheel as the Stage 1 doesn't generate as much heat as the Stage 2 or 3. The purpose of a high grade (billet steel) flywheel is to handle extra heat generated by the cera-metallic friction material found on the stage 2 & 3. I have a used billet steel (stock weight 23lb) flywheel that has been resurfaced for $150, or a new one runs $125 more. This applies to both the 15lb chromoly flywheel or 23b nickel-steel billet. To my knowledge, Monster uses a 29lb 1045 carbon steel billet flywheel. I considered using that particular flywheel in my kits, but decided against it, as it's just regular hardened steel, which is not necessarily designed to handle heat. I guess that explains why it is so thick and comes out to 29lbs.

It went on the car about 6 months before I installed the TT set-up too.
