Default 2nd Gen Camaro guys, need some input on a Track only 6.0L stuff

I am getting my stuff together to build a Track only 1970 drag car using a carbed 6.0L for the engine.
I am wondering if the truck oil pan is going to hang too far below the crossmember. Years ago we used to run deep sump Moroso oil pans at the track, since they were track only we never had much troubles with a pan that hung pretty low.
I think it would work but I would like to hear others thoughts on it.

it will hang low. A F-body pan will fit alot better. I got my Fcar pan kit from www.partstaxi.com They were the cheapest when I was checking for the best deal at the time. (something like $280.)

I have a F-body pan I can use.

Did you replace the truck oil pump with a F-body oil pump??

When I bought my f-body pan it came with the windage tray, pan, and pickup tube, what else would I need to do the swap??

the oil pump is fine. Just need to swap the windage tray/ pickup and pan. I agree the truck pan would hang too low, especially coming down from wheels up launches.

That was the only thing I would be worried about to, the wheels up launches.

Ok, so leave the truck oil pump as is, swap out the windage tray, pickup tube and pan?

Thats correct, be careful with the pickup tube O-ring. If you pinch it you will lose oil pressure

Id recommend a new oil pump while the engine is removed for GP. Its a bear to replace with the engine in the car

Where do you get the new o-ring at??

I suspect that if I lube the crap out of the o-ring it will help with installing it without messing it up?
