Default New Dyno Tune But .....

Installed LE1 heads and cam 226x230-111 but I ran 12.9s with stock heads and cc 305 and now best 12.80 @ 106.9 W/1.80 60ft . DA was bad,3100 but still think times should be better..can find nothing wrong.

looks like you have a 10hp/tq chunk taken out right around 5k rpm

Thats a really ugly torque curve and it should be hitting peak HP a little higher than 6.1K RPM. I have a slightly smaller cam and peak at 6.4K RPM (my graph in sig). Something is wrong here IMHO.

Was the TC locked for the pull?
Are these STP or SAE corrected numbers?

Well, it makes no power below 4500, and when it does make any TQ it peaks then falls off HARD.

What does the tune look like.

What kind of valvetrain does it have in it.

400hp (ok 396) and a 3600stall with some good air will get you damn close to an 11. A DA of 3100 is pretty damn bad though. I'm sure that killed some power.

I don't have the papers from the tune, tuner was not there when I picked it up. I just talked to him,he wants to look at in again this week.Top end is all comp cams 1.6rr.push rods, lifters, retainers, locks ect.& LE's springs w.heads. I'm goinng back to track today for points racing.

Thats what we thought, was looking for low 12s for class I run. I could see maybe .2 for weather.

Check this out to see what a closer time would have been for that day. I know its not completely accurate, but it will give you an idea of howit would run in better weather.

No offense but LE doesn't make springs. That still doesn't really tell us much.

Having good valvetrain components is one thing, and setting it up properly is a whole nother thing.

Could be some of your issue, or not. Wondering what the tune looks like

Sorry,I mean the springs LE heads come with, cranes. I had a very good guy set it up. I ran 2 tt's & 4 rounds in today a little better air,but not much, 12.79@106.3,,12.76@106.1,,12.74@109.9,,12.81@106.1 ,,12.72@107.1 & 12.71@107.1..DA 2962 Mechanically car seems sound. Stock TB too small ? Gears ? Tires ? Not surre where to look right now.

I bet a 52mm TB would help out, but I don't think that's the problem at hand on why yur car isn't making the power it should. My money is on the tune, but also have you upgraded fuel injectors?

I'de get it on a dynojet if you want accurate #'s. If you are truly making 395rwhp in an unlock auto you would be trapping near 120. I trapped 111 with 322rwhp when I was an auto just for reference. As far as the track times they seem on par with similar setups in that d/a.

I have the same cam with le2 heads. Your peak hp#'s arent too far off, but your torque curve looks terrible. mine looks like the sideview of a kitchen table. I made 405/392 through an m-6 with stock gears. Ran out of fuel pump around 6300.

I'm still on stock injectors & stock TB..we were thinking about them..The tuner I deal with has the superFlow dyno and he's local, I'm going to meet with him tues.and look at the tune first..

Any idea what would cause torque curve to be like that ?

I guess people don't know what an unlocked dyno looks like... That torque curve is perfectly normal for an unlocked stalled A4.

this^^^

but like speed demon said, if it was truly making those numbers unlocked it would be running bottom 11s at 120ish.

What does the A/F ratio look like during the pull?

The tuner was at a dirt track when I picked up the car all I got was the 1 graph from his dad. I'll get the rest when I see him Tues.
