No, a LS6 intake is just like what it sounds.
Fast is a brand that makes intakes. Fast intakes are really good. make different sizes. typically people say stick with ls6 until you do heads or cam and then you will see a good enough improvement over ls6 to justify the high price tag.
Read the sticky on the top of this section and will outline all the bolt ons.

Get someone to port your TB and buy a used ls6 intake off of here.. I just sold my ls6 intake/ported TB setup for 350$.. That would still allow you to sell your TB and intake for a little bit.

If you have the money, go FAST intake/TB setup no doubt.

how much of a difference does the ported tb and ls6 intake have on a ls1 with 230 cam .610/.610, long tube headers.

You would be looking at around a 20-23Rwhp gain after a tune. Well worth it for the money. The ls1 intake is horrible all the way around. The ls6 flows very good all the way up to around 6K and then starts falling off. If you will be spinning to 6400+ RPMs, buy a FAST setup.
Ls6/ported TB is the best "bang for the buck" setup by far.

ive thought about that set up but right now work has slowed down and that set up is a lil expensive so i was going to settle for the ported tb and ls6 intake.

you running a lid? aftermarket cat-back?

most defintely a ported TB and LS6 intake will net some good power... a good start to go with and and help that cam breathe a little more.

Buy these..

Lid- Just get a used one of here.. They can be had for around 50-80$ +shipping or shipped.
Cutout- 35$ brand new off Jegs/Summit.. Get someone to weld it up for you, should only be around 25$.
Ls6 intake/ported TB.. Get a used one on here.. DO NOT pay more than 310$ shipped on the intake... Be careful who did the porting on the TB.. There is a guy from the forums that sells ported TBs on ebay and does a good job on them, think it is like 70$ (pic has a lady holding it with huge ****)? And then you can sell your TB for some cash.

Cheapest route with more power gains.
