Default Looking at 98 T/A have a few questions

New to the board and figured i would look here for advice.

Im looking at a 1998 blue green chameleon T/A. Located in Texas. Non WS6 All stock. Guy is asking $6900 for it.

The car has 71,000 miles on it and i got the autocheck on it and it checked out good. Scored 75 where similar cars scored 36-66 so im assuming thats good. Car looks to be in pretty good shape. Dash had the famous cracks in it but there were no other issues with the interior that i saw. Only a couple issues with the paint but ive seen alot worse. The power windows, doors, hatch, power seat, and everything else worked. A/C was good and stereo was good. The windows didnt roll up real fast but they worked. There are some issues with the car though and i wanted to discuss them here before i go any further. I drove the car today and i noticed at idle the oil pressure was anywhere from 10-20 and when i got on it the most it got to was about 50. Is this normal? Im assuming the car has 5w30 in it and was thinking by going to 10w30 the pressure would go up? I popped the hood and the oil was where it should be on the stick. Here are the other things i noticed

1. Steering didnt feel normal, car wasnt hard to turn but it definitely didnt feel right... thinking the power steering pump is either going out or about to. Is this a common issue? How much to fix?
2. The shades for the t-tops were missing. Not a big deal but something i would need to replace asap cause its hot in texas.
3. Passenger side lights would not pop up. More $$$ but should be an easy fix.
4. Left blinker apparently wasnt working cause i was damn near rear ended turning. It showed a steady green light on dash and not blinking. Probably a cheap, easy fix.

Any other issues with the car were cosmetic and expected for a 12 year old car. The guy wants $6900 for it but im thinking its too much. Any suggestions out there on what i should offer? The cars inspection sticker was out at end of May so hes gonna have to get the blinker, headlights, etc in working order to get the sticker. That is unless he knows someone who will do it anyways.
So, what should i offer? Im not sure how much he's willing to come off the price.

Thanks
CC

5k max because of all the little issues the car has.Although theyre small issues and relatively cheap to fix, they all add up. I only sat $5k max because of the low mileage...

In order to your post...

You can get a dash pad for around 75$..
Oil pressure is fine.
Don't know what steering feels like so can't help on that.
Ttop shades... You can get them all day for 40-50$..
Probably motor for the HL.. Cheap easy fix..
Blinker...... 3$ and 30 seconds?

**If that car is as nice in person as in the pics..
You offer me 4-5$ and I would laugh in your face and tell you to go find a beat on car with 100+K miles. IMO if you get that car for 6K you got a deal. I would offer 6$ with taxes/tags/everything...

BTW... Is this a dealership? I noticed the link.. There were a lot of nice fbodys in there for sale if so. Or is that just some image linking site that happen to have a lot of fbodys on there that are very clean with pics taken like you would take when selling a car? Do they have prices anywhere?

You guys are crazy, it seems like everyone is throwing out a price that they would WANT to buy it for. Worth maybe $6500 absolute max, just because of the unpopular color scheme.

I would pay more for that color scheme... I love the blue/green cha. TAs... I think the camel interior is also pretty sweet. Stands out but in a 100% good way!

I would love to own any of those... Being a formula.... Having a Htop... Stripper model... All of those just make it that much more of a "sweet" factor for me.

No I haven't bought the car yet. Actually the color stood out to me. Yes the car is at a small dealer in Arlington. He has a 99 black ws6 too with 95k on it but it doesn't look to be in nearly as good of shape. I like the interior as well. I looked up numbers on 98s in this color and I believe there were only 330 made. The only other things I noticed about the car was a little fading on the mirrors an the trans am and logo on back were faded.

I'm with this guy, I think $4-5000 will not fly unless the guy is a complete idiot. If it were me, I'd offer $6000. That is a clean car!
