Default Turn Signal Socket

This is a long shot, but I need the actual socket for the turn signal. I will be surprised if anyone has these for sale. I need both driver's and passenger's side.

Yep. I replace those things about as often as i change the oil! The replacements come with about a 12" of extra wire. I cut the the wires and crimped on some female connectors to the harness side. Then i crimped on males to the new socket wires. I also left most of the extra wire so now i just reach in, pop it out, and can pull it out the front vent where it's easy to work with. Takes about 3 minutes to swap out the whole assembly now.

You do NOT need to cut the wires...and the connectors are not waterproof...if the sockets are burning out then drill a 1/8" hole in the bottom of the housing to allow water in the housing to drain out as that is why these sockets get corroded and burn out. Adding the female-male connectors just adds one more way water can damage the electrical connections.
You can just replace the socket, the inner part pops out of the outer part and allows for the wires to slip out...

The drain holes didn't help me out. I just accepted the fact that they will continue to burn out. I've never had a failure at the connectors, it's always the socket. Plus the extra wire is very handy when it comes time to just change the bulbs.

Hey to each his own, i've had a handful of 4th gen birds since 95 and this is what has worked best for me. Good luck!

You could find them at a scrap yard for cheap too!

And i've removed my front wheel wells for my 18's and if you turn the steering wheel you can reach right in to the turn signal area.

I have them now, thanks everyone. Every scrap yard here wants 30.00 a piece for them and the parts stores wants 49.00 a piece..even autozone. They like to rip off the military here.

for anyone else looking at this thread the part number for Autozone/Advance etc is #85881.. I personally would call ahead to the store you will be going to and make sure they have some in stock. They run about $8 a piece. I got 2 and they are working flawlessly.
