Default Removing Roof Panel- "Wire Method"???

Has anyone else tried the method described on the second page of this thread to remove the roof panel without breaking it?

I tried it but it was way to much work and it didn't seem to cut the glue very well. getting it started will probably be the hardest part. I gave up after about a half hour. It took about 5 minutes to cut and pry it off.

Did you find a special cutting wire tool? I wonder if a heat gun would help melt the glue a little.
